Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation Review

So back to beauty today with a review of one of my newest products that I have been testing out for you guys. The Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich Foundation does exactly what is says on the tin and that is why it has become one of my favourite foundations ever.

Now as I'm sure I've mentioned a million times before, I have the driest skin known to mankind, think the Sahara Desert in Summer. So as you can imagine I am all about the Glow, I actually like to look positively shiny when I wear foundation so if you have oily skin, this is not the foundation for you. However if like me you have a longing for a really shiny glow then you will LOVE this stuff.

Now for my girls that love a light coverage this would be perfect as this gives a sheer to medium coverage which actually looks like skin, something Bobbi Brown is really all about. The texture is very liquidy and there is no pump so you have to be pretty careful when applying this. The bonus of this is that you can pour any product you haven't used back into the bottle.

The shade range in Bobbi Brown is exceptional and they generally have a pretty yellow undertone which is perfect for me. They also go very pale and very dark so I reckon just about everyone should be able to get a good match for them. I wear the shade 1, which is quite pale, as in the winter I'm basically a ghost. I think as the year progresses I will have to go up a few shades and mix but as the texture is so light this would be so easy to mix.

Overall, I think this is the perfect foundation for people with normal/dry skin and for those of us who are terrified of a Matte finish. The lightness of this foundation makes it perfect for the warmer months and I cant wait to get some more wear out of this foundation.

Love Always,
Megan

My Top 5 Tips For Getting Your Shit Together

Hello my beauty's, so its been two weeks...two f**king weeks since my last post, what the heck is going on I hear you ask? Well to be quite honest I've been in a proper funk recently. Normally when bouts of Anxiety hit me I am very aware of whats going on as this is something I have dealt with on many an occasion and they rarely have much chance to affect me. This past couple have weeks however have been different. For some reason I have just not felt like me, I haven't wanted to do anything or see anyone which is unusual as normally I am quite a driven person and always have to be doing something. Well what I have realised is that this, although slightly annoying, gives me an excuse to share with you guys my top 5 tips of how to get out of these low moments we all experience in life.

1. ALLOW YOURSELF TO FEEL DOWN. You can't be expected to be Little Miss Peppy all day everyday can you? It is perfectly normal to feel upset, down, anxious or just a little bit off now and again and realistically if you try faking your usual charisma you will probably just end up feeling worse. If you need to cry, CRY! It's okay to be a human and you will probably feel an enormous weight has been lifted off your shoulders.

2. ORGANISE YOUR LIFE! Often we experience these low times because we feel helpless or because we have a task we feel like we cant manage ahead. Well that means its time to get organised, this will mean different things to different people but for me it starts with breaking down the problem into smaller, more manageable, tasks and this makes it SO much easier to get through. Lists are everything and using them effectively can make you feel so much more productive. So get that planner out of the desk drawer and start bloody using it.

3. MUSIC IS MEDICINE. I have always been a huge music person and have sang my whole life. This means that for me there is no better healer than my favourite music. Get out the speakers and start blasting your fave tunes and you will soon feel like you have been lifted. If you are feeling sad, listening to something more slow and subdued and get out the sadness (crying is okay people!). For me The 1975 have been one of the main things that has got me to where I am today. I seriously recommend their music and luckily for you they have just released their new album (partly why I am now back to normal).

4. ENVIRONMENT IS EVERYTHING. If you are feeling down because someone else has made you feel that way, cut the bitch out! I'm serious you should surround yourself with people who make you feel happy and valued and anyone who doesn't fit that bill doesn't deserve your attention. Environment also means the space around you, I know I always feel better when my room is clean and tidy and my work space is uncluttered. So put the tunes on and for half an hour tidy up and get rid of the clutter in your life. I assure you you will feel better and your mum will love the tidy bedroom!

5. MOVE YO BODY. It is scientifically proven that exercise releases endorphins in the body which make you feel happier. Now if I went to the gym happy would not be the feeling I would have! But if I went out for a run in the fresh air or went Rock Climbing I can't explain how good my body and soul feels. Its all about finding the sport that works for you, if you want to try something lighter how about Yoga? You don't need to fork out for a Class, check out Yoga With Adrienne and feel amazing from the comfort of your bedroom. Or for Something more energetic try a team sport, swimming or running. Just find something that makes you smile from ear to ear and you will soon be lifted out of the slump you have been in.

So guys that's my tips for getting your shit together and getting out of a low point in life. I would love to hear your best advice because who knows it may help just one person feel better about their day.

Love Always,
Megan

February Lust List

Hello again my dears, so it is that time of the month again where we talk about the 5 beauty products that I have been lusting after in the month of February. I have really been enjoying writing this blog for you guys and really hope you have been enjoying reading it so let me know if you have any post suggestions as input is always welcome.

So to kick off the post I'm going to start with a makeup piece I tried at the Bobbi Brown counter a couple of weeks ago and fell in love with, it is of course the Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener. I was colour matched to the shade Porcelain Peach which although slightly depressing was fair as I am the palest of pale at the moment. I would have purchased this at the counter however they did not have the colour I needed in stock, plus as a fellow beauty consultant I hate purchasing something online I can get in store. The thing I liked so much about this was that it has a really light consistency and doesn't dry out the skin like the NARS Creamy Concealer seems to do on me. This is is simply beautiful and i can't wait to get my mitts on it when payday rolls around again.

Next on my list of lusts is the Kiehls Ultra Facial Balm  another product I tried a couple of weeks ago on my little shopping spree with my sister. And my word is this thing moisturising, It has a really thick consistency which is more buttery than any other moisturiser I've ever used. What I really loved about this was how little you had to use, you only need to use a tiny amount so this thing would last ages. I think this would be more of a night cream for me as I am not sure how this would sit under makeup but this is most definitely a major lust for me right now.

Now for something I haven't written about before, a perfume I have been lusting after. Now I am a little odd with Fragrance as I love anything that smells like lemon and even slightly medicinal. I love a unisex fragrance and most of all, it must be fresh. So what is it I hear you all asking of course it is the Prada Les Infusions de Prada Vetiver , though the name be a mouthful I think this fragrance is really simplistic as it doesn't smell too fussy. It has a very citrus scent and without going too far into notes and such I just have really fallen in love with this beauty. Now its quite pricey with a RRP of £90 but you do get 100ML so I guess it's not the worst value in the world.

The next thing on this month's list is a well loved product of mine in a new shade, yipee!! I'm sure you are all aware of the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector by now and if not where have you been?! However what is new is the delightful berry shade 08 Plum Shimmer. If I could post Emojis in a blog post I would most definitely be using the heart eyes right now! This is one of my all time favourite lip products so I am so excited to pick one of these bad boys up and give the new shade a go. If you haven't tried them think buttery gloss with a sheer pigmentation and a fabulous wear time, all for the price of £18 RRP. Bargain!

Finally to conclude this month's list we have another balm Cleanser... Shock! This one is the stunning Bobbi Brown Extra Balm Rinse, can you tell I've just got into Bobbi Brown? First of all please just take a second to look at the gorgeous packaging. I mean really. Now I had a look at this in store and they have a 200 ML Jar for a whopping £45 however if you want to try it they also have a handy travel sized tube (not so glamorous) which is 50 ML and only £20. Now I'm a sucker for packaging so really I want the 200 ML jar but if I was being sensible I would probably opt for the Squeezy tube. Now I love a cleansing balm and the texture of this one looks sublime, really as long as it takes off the slap and makes your skin clean and smooth that is all I'm really asking from a cleanser. For a full list of Ingredients take a look at the below (Taken from the queen Caroline Hirons herself) as I know this is really important to some of you gals.

What's in it?
Glycerin, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Limonene, Polyglyceryl-10 Behenate/Eicosadioate, Glyceryl Behenate/Eicosadioate, Polyglyceryl-3 Beeswax, PEG-10 Sunflower Glycerides, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Polydecene, Beta Carotene, Potassium Stearate, Benzyl Alcohol, Linalool, Anise Alcohol, Citronellol, Aminomethyl Propanediol

Hope you enjoyed this months installment of the Lust List and let me know if there is anything you would like me to post about in the future.

Travel Review: Split, Croatia

Hello

So, something  little different from me today. Recently I booked a two week jolly for me and Matt for August 2016 and it got me thinking about travel in general. As cliche as it may be I'm one of those people who possesses the feeling of Wanderlust. I personally believe that seeing new things and experiencing new places is crucial to a happy existence and cant think of a better way to spend my money. Last year was when this feeling really kicked in for me, I don't know if it was the new-found adulthood or because it was the first time I had savings of my own but something just clicked and I had the overwhelming urge to go somewhere.

Now as I live in the UK, Europe is very easily accessible which is something I am greatly appreciative of as I LOVE Europe. There is so much to see and lots of very diverse culture all sort of crammed together. So as I've been to a few countries in the wonderful continent I thought it was high time to go somewhere completely different, and this turned out to be Croatia. Not only are the flights ridiculously cheap from Newcastle to Split with EasyJet at certain times of the year (I went in September 2015) it is also only about 2.5 hours away so there in no Jet Lag to contend with.

Croatian Important Information;

Currency: Kuna (about 10 Kn to £1)
Language: Croatian - Most people in split speak English
Safety: There are a lot of unexploded mines from the civil War so don't stray off paths when walking through less populated areas...Just in case!
Travel: Basically they don't use trains much, my advise is to use the public bus. Its cheap as chips and they run like clockwork. Also the ferry can be taken to get to islands and is a really organised system and not too pricey. Plus you don't need to book in advance.

Initially I had planned to go solo on this trip but it just so happened that my Mum could take the same week holiday so it ended up being a great excuse for us to spend some real quality time together. On Arrival in Split we soon realised that the Croatian people have a totally different lifestyle which would have to be adopted. It was 10 PM and the streets were full of people having their dinner in open air restaurants and just generally hanging out, this was such a nice thing to be welcomed by as we really felt immersed in the Croatian way of life. Up at the crack of Sparrows, a short nap in the afternoon, and up all night enjoying time with friends family an fabulous food.

Over the course of the 7 days we were there we swam in the sea at least once a day which is a nice change when you are in the center of a city. My favorite beach was actually on the island of Hvar which we took a ferry for £7 to for the day. Well worth the money in my opinion! The water is as clear as day and you can actually see the fishies swimming around you which is awesome! One thing to mention is that most of the beaches around Split are pebble beaches so bring some shoes to wear in the sea or your feet will pay the price.

As for the food be prepared! its a huge mix of a lot of 'Italian' food and also some more traditional dishes such as slow cooked lamb and more seafood than you could ever imagine. Even the Ice cream places are incredible, serving tonnes of flavours in an huge assortment of lurid colours. In contrast to the UK, food and drinks are incredibly cheap from restaurants in Split and if you are a wine drinker you are in luck as this can be as cheap as 70p per glass in a restaurant! By the end of the week my mum and I had money to spare and we ate out about twice a day.

Without going into too much detail, Croatia is one of the best places I have ever been, so much so that I had to add it on this years itinerary. I absolutely fell in love with Split and all of its history and fabulous culture. Be sure to check out the island of Hvar and the Marjan forest when you are there as you will never see the best view in Split until you have climbed up the Marjan's hill.

If you have never been before I highly recommend it as somewhere to see before you die and I promise you will be back. Let me know if you would like more posts like this as I plan on seeing  lot more of Europe this year and would love to share it with you guys.

Much love,
Megan
